Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Custom Silicon Solutions website collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only. It does not cover information you give us by telephone, by email, or in the course of a commercial engagement.

What we collect

Information you send us

When you submit the inquiry form we collect your name, company, email address, telephone number if you provide one, and the message you write. We also record that you ticked the consent box, and when.

That information is stored in this website’s database and emailed to our sales team so we can reply. We use it to respond to your inquiry and to carry out any work that follows from it. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone outside CSS except the service providers described below.

Checking that inquiries are genuine. When an inquiry arrives, this website automatically scores it — using how the form was filled in and which pages were read beforehand — and stores a label alongside it such as “likely genuine” or “likely automated”, together with the reasons for that label. This only labels. Nothing is rejected, hidden or deleted because of it, every inquiry is stored and sent to us in full, and a person reads all of them.

How you used this website

This site records which pages you view, in what order, how long you spend on each, the website or search engine you arrived from, and any campaign tags in the address you arrived on. This is held in a cookie set by this website, is kept for thirty minutes, and is not shared with anyone.

If you submit the inquiry form, that record is attached to your inquiry, so that whoever replies can see what you were reading. If you do not submit the form, the record expires and is not kept.

We do not record this for visitors who are signed in to the website as staff.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity, a website analytics service, to understand how people use this site so that we can improve it. Clarity records how you move around a page — where you scroll, what you click, and how long you stay — and can replay that activity as an anonymised session recording. It also records your approximate location, your browser and device, and the site you arrived from.

This information is collected by Microsoft and held on Microsoft systems under their privacy terms, not ours. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising.

How people choose to contact us

We count how often the telephone number, email address, LinkedIn link and map links on the contact page are clicked. These are totals only — a number per day, per link. No address, identifier or other information about you is stored with them, and they cannot be traced back to an individual.

Server records

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include the IP address of visitors, the pages requested, and the time of the request. These exist to run and secure the service.

Separately, to stop the inquiry form being used to send bulk messages, this website briefly keeps a scrambled one-way version of your IP address so it can count how many messages have come from one connection. It is kept for one hour, then discarded, and it cannot be turned back into your address.

Third parties

Some things on this site are provided by other companies, and those companies receive information about you when they load.

• Hosting. This website is hosted by Kinsta and served through Cloudflare. Both process visitor requests, including IP addresses, in order to deliver and protect the site.
• Google Maps. The contact page shows a Google map. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and the page you are on, under Google’s own privacy policy. The map only loads if you scroll to it. Every function of that page works without it, and the address and directions link do not require it.
• Microsoft Clarity. Our website analytics, described above. Microsoft receives your IP address, the pages you view and how you interact with them, under Microsoft’s own privacy policy.
• Email delivery. Inquiries are sent to us by email, which passes through our mail provider in the ordinary way.

This site does not use advertising trackers, and does not embed social media tracking pixels.

Cookies

This site sets one cookie of its own. It holds the record of pages you have viewed described above, lasts thirty minutes, and is readable only by this website. If you sign in to the website as staff, WordPress sets additional cookies to keep you signed in.

Microsoft Clarity, described above, sets its own cookies to recognise a returning visit and to group the pages of one visit together. These are set by Microsoft, not by us.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not stop you using this site or contacting us.

How long we keep things

We keep inquiries for as long as we need them to respond to you, to carry out any resulting work, and to meet our record-keeping and legal obligations. The browsing record described above expires after thirty minutes unless it is attached to an inquiry. Click totals are kept for six months and contain nothing personal.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us at the address above or through the contact page and we will respond.

If you are in California, the CCPA gives you rights to know what personal information is collected, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under the UK GDPR and the GDPR. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Note that your information is processed in the United States.

Children

This is a business-to-business website. It is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we add or change how this site collects information — for example by adding website analytics — we will update this page before doing so.
